During the month of October we learned how to recognize the number 1 & its value as well. We also learned how we should write the number by feeling it on corrugated paper & sand paper. Then we wrote the number with our finger in rice, with a paintbrush with water in the yard, on the intereactive whiteboard & with thick crayons. That way we learned how to write the number without using pencils so that next year we will find it easier to catch up in Year 1.
This is the number 1 made on sand paper & corrugated paper for us to feel its texture with our finger so that we can learn how to write it.

One, two, three, four, five
once I caught a fish alive
six, seven, eight, nine ,ten
then I let it go again
why did you let it go?
six, seven, eight, nine ,ten
then I let it go again
why did you let it go?
because it bit my finger so
which finger did it bite?
this little finger on the right
