During the month of March we learned about food & drink. We learned
about the importance of eating a lot of healthy food and very few junk food.
To start the topic we did the food pyramid together so that we learn the different
food groups in the pyramid and remember that we should eat very few junk food.
During the first week we learned about fruit and the importance of
eating a lot of fruit. We learned the names of the fruit in Maltese & in English. Below are
the activities we did about fruit. Apart from these activities we also did a
fruit salad where we tasted different fruit.

During the second week
we learned about vegetables and the importance of eating a lot of vegetables.
We learned the names of the vegetables in Maltese. Below are the activities we
did about vegetables.

During the third week
we learned about pasta and its importance in our diet. We learned the names of
different types of pasta. We also learned how to make a healthy pizza as we did
it on a wrap instead of using dough. Below are the activities we did during
this week.

During the fourth week we learned about the importance of drinking milk
and why it is so important to drink it white with no colourings or sugar added.
We learned that milk comes from cows. We also learned about icing sugar and
food colouring which are not so healthy to eat and that we should have small
amounts of them including sweets and junk food. We also mentioned the
importance of including chicken, meat & fish in our diet. Then we concluded
the topic with a food groups mobile. Below are the activities we did during
this week.
